Day 1
Marina di Scarlino – Cerboli – Portoferraio
After breakfast, we leave Marina di Scarlino to Portoferraio, the small capital city of Elba that acquired a role of international importance with Napoleon’s exile. A de-tour for a dive in the isle of Cerboli, in the channel of Piombino, is compulsory. Its crystal blue sea lets you immediately feel on holiday.
Day 2
Portoferraio – Capraia
Release the moors in the direction of Capraia. Rock and volcanic, lonely and faraway, it is an obligatory destination for sailors and sea lovers. Capraia is exposed to Libeccio, Sirocco and Mistral: you can moor in the little harbour or use the buoys to have a safe anchorage. It is a perfect oasis for those who love snorkelling, diving and retired swimming.
Day 3
Capraia – Saint- Florent
Cut through the sea towards Saint-Florent! The small town, extremely linked to its history, is surrounded by beautiful beaches, inlets and is full of life.
Day 4
Saint- Florent – Saleccia – Calvi
Hoist the sails: Calvi will surprise you! Take a break for a dive before reaching your destination: Saleccia is perfect, with a beautiful white sandy beach and a crystal blue sea. Calvi is a city enclosed between sea and mountain, it baits because of the walls that arrive up to the crystal sea, the immense bay and the beautiful beach that seem limitless.
Day 5
Calvi – Ajaccio
Lift the sails to Ajaccio! The Corse capital city will fascinate you thanks to its history. Ajaccio is a unique and magical city: the animated markets and the alleys of the old city are unmissable. Not to be missed: taste the typical dishes, they will make you crazy!
Day 6
Ajaccio – Bonifacio
Point the bow towards Bonifacio! The beautiful city, beyond the Strait of Bonifacio, is situated on a small calcareous fjord, the view on the sea and the beaches under the high cliffs are stunning.
Day 7
Bonifacio – Maddalena Island
Point the bow towards Maddalena island. The biggest island of the homonymous archipelago, La Maddalena, is known all over the world thanks to the beaches and to the transparent and clear water that reminds Caribbean landscapes. La Maddalena and the entire archipelago are part of the National Park of the Archipelago of La Maddalena, a protected marine and land area of international and communal interest.
Day 8
Maddalena Island – Spargi – Caprera (Cala Coticcio)
Move to Caprera, the second largest island of the Archipelago of La Maddalena. A dive in the island of Spargi will relax you: the third island of the archipelago is really delightful. Caprera is enchanting with the cliffs falling in the sea, and with the coast that offers wonderful inlets and bays, among which Cala Coticcio, where you can have a safe anchorage for the night.
Day 9
Caprera (Cala Coticcio) - Porto Cervo
Weigh anchor to a new destination: Porto Cervo! Indisputable capital city of the night life of Costa Smeralda, Porto Cervo offers much more: from the little square Delle Chiacchere to Sottopiazza, where alleys, windows and balconies built in the typical Costa Smeralda style intertwine, and deserve to be seen. Not to be missed: the panorama from Porto Cervo Marina.
Day 10
Porto Cervo – Giannutri
A long crossing is waiting for you! Prepare yourself to face it at the best. Giannutri is the smallest island of the Tuscan Archipelago but, in spite of it, it deserves a visit. It is frequently visited by divers, attracted by its uncontaminated sea bottoms, full of fishes, corals and wrecks of ancient vessels to explore. The coast is rock and full of wonderful grottos and suggestive bays, with two small gravel braches in Cala dello Spalmatoio and Cala Maestra.
Day 11
Giannutri – Giglio (Porto)
Weigh anchor early in the morning towards Giglio! The entire coast is jagged by cliffs interspersed with bays and inlets. Giglio Porto is the only harbour of the island, small and picturesque, it is also a really characteristic residential area, with coloured and narrow houses, that form alleys and small streets. Watch carefully to the sea: you could meet dolphins, sperm whales and fin whales.
Day 12
Giglio (Porto) – Porto Azzurro
Come back to Elba and moor in Porto Azzurro, lively and welcoming town of Spanish origins. The harbour during summer is very crowed. In this case you can have a safe anchor in front of Porto Azzurro or in Golfo di Mola.
Day 13
Porto Azzurro – Marina di Scarlino
Our sailing holiday has come to the end. Slowly return to Marina di Scarlino. For the last dive, Cala Martina is perfect. The small inlet, nearby the harbour of Scarlino, is the ideal to take the last picture.
