Day 1
Marina di Scarlino – Cerboli – Portoferraio
Weigh anchor early in the morning and sail to Portoferraio, the most populous town of Elba Island, the small “capital city” famous thanks to Napoleon’s exile and its ancient Greek/Roman mooring, the “Darsena Medicea”. Take a break for a swim in Cerboli or in Palmaiola.
Day 2
Porto Ferraio – La Biodola – Marciana Marina
After breakfast, leave to take a swim in La Biodola, one of the most famous and visited beaches of the Island thanks to its colours. In case of Mistral blowing, you can sleep in Marciana Marina, one of the typical town characterized by nineteenth-century traits of coastal Tuscan towns.
Day 3
Marciana Marina – Fetovaia – Marina di Campo
Point the bow towards Marina di Campo and its fantastic beach. If Sirocco blows, you should have a safe anchorage, because the jetty is not sufficient, and mooring could be difficult. Finally, a lunch or a dinner in one of its typical restaurants is compulsory: the food will make you crazy!
Day 4
Marina di Campo – Golfo della Lacona – Golfo Stella
Let’s now sail to Golfo Stella, well protected from Mistral and perfect to have a safe anchorage. Not to be missed: the little bays that you can find along Stella and Lacona gulfs.
Day 5
Golfo Stella – Porto Azzurro
Just 18 miles far from Marina di Scarlino, Porto Azzurro is the best locality to stay the last night. The harbour during summer is very crowded. In this case you can have a safe anchorage in front of Porto Azzurro or in Golfo di Mola.
Day 6
Porto Azzurro – Marina di Scarlino
After a fulfilling week of sailing, wind and sea, it is time to make your way back to Marina di Scarlino. You can take the last swim in Cala Violina, one of the most beautiful bays of the area, where hearing the sand sound under your feet will be the right goodbye to this sailing holyday. Keep on hand your camera, you will not resist to take some extra pictures.
